"I very much enjoyed this one again, but it still felt like the ending was botched. The additional twist actually detracted from the story more than it added. But I'll still be reading book 3, waiting for the romance to heat up a little more."

"3.3/5 - better than the first. characters were less hateable, though Xander and some were 2D with singular personality traits. not the best twists but the writing isn’t half bad."

"I liked this book it was packed with action and more suspense just like the first one. It kept me on my toes. The only downfall was the beginning was a little slow."

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Twisty as ever, this is really hard to write without spoilers
It was so suspenseful and good but I did question some choices that the author made in the end which is what knocked it the star. It felt like some things were purposely there to trick us the reader (which feels just rude) so that no one could predict the ending.
Regardless it made me cry and was great for further character development. I can’t wait for the next one."

"It was such a good sequel. Can’t wait to read the third book. Like the first book, it’s a nonstop treasure hunt, but it was better than the first book. I didn’t expect this book to make me cry but.. omg. It’s so addicting. There’s something happening every chapters. "

"This is the second book in the series and I didn’t like it quite as much as the first. While there was more action, there were less riddles. It is very young adult and not remotely believable, especially given the ages of the main characters. I went into it looking for fast pace and entertainment and it delivered. I am not a fan of love triangles but the romance was so minor I tried not to let it annoy me. I’m debating whether or not I’ll finish the series. "
