Stephen King
Now an HBO limited series starring Ben Mendelsohn! Evil has many faces…maybe even yours in this #1 New York Times bestseller from master storyteller Stephen King. An eleven-year-old boy’s violated corpse is discovered in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City’s most popular citizens—Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon have DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad. As the investigation expands and horrifying details begin to emerge, King’s story kicks into high gear, generating strong tension and almost unbearable suspense. Terry Maitland seems like a nice guy, but is he wearing another face? When the answer comes, it will shock you as only Stephen King can.

"Better then a series based on the book, but I do not love this new style of Mr. King. But if pretend that we don't know who the author is - the book is good and worthy reading"

"It is truly amazing to me that one person can have such a exceptional imagination that never runs out of new ideas. Such a good book. I had very hard time putting it down! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"My review will be biased because I'm not a fan of Stephen King but very much respect his writing. I bought this book close to October assuming it was a spooky read by the summary and cover picture. Don't get me wrong the story was extremely detailed all the facts of the case laid down nothing left out. But that seemed to be 99% of the book. Interviews, phone calls, and documents. Of course there were some creepy af scenes but very few and very far between. His writing disturbs me on another level largely seeming to involve little kids which is hard to read about. I'm not sure if I'll try another novel by him. Just not for me I think."

"3.5/5
It was good, but some parts dragged on and were a little boring. Glad I read End of A Watch series before this. "

"When I first started reading it, I didn't know what was going On. "How can a person literally be in two places at once?" (The accused was both killing a child and across town coaching a Little League game.) "???""
