When female wolf shifter Taryn Warner first encounters Trey Coleman, an alpha male wolf shifter with a dangerous reputation, she's determined to resist his charms. After all, Trey--who was only fourteen when he defeated his own father in a duel, winning the right to be alpha of his pack--can't have anything to offer the talented healer besides trouble, or so she thinks. Taryn finds herself drawn in by Trey's forceful demeanor and arctic-blue eyes, and she eventually agrees to enter an uneasy alliance with him. If the two succeed in convincing their respective packs that they've chosen each other as mates, Trey will win valuable political allies, while Taryn will escape an odious arranged mating. But there are a lot of potential pitfalls to this plan--including the very real possibility that the wolf shifters, overwhelmed by their growing attraction to each other, will be unable to maintain the clear heads needed to pull off the deception.

"Honestly this was closer to a 4 and then BAM annoying trope, and so long. Taryn and Trey strike up a deal to save each other, and as it usually goes, a bond made out of a business transaction becomes more than that. Their banter is cute, and the characters are evenly perfect matched. This isn’t some weak girl and strong hero. This is a strong badass girl being resourceful of a hero with an opportunity. We also meet a lot of side characters that really add to the story, and I’m sure are set ups for books to follow in the series. I really love Taryn as an FMC. She is strong willed and knows exactly what she wants out of life, regardless of everything thrown her way. She’s a very good depiction of how a strong woman doesn’t have to sacrifice that strength to “keep” a man. Trey as an MC is strong willed and everything we want in dark morally gray characters, down to not knowing what love is and how to show it. But really the pièce de résistance in this story is Greta, but also #justiceforLJ. All in all, it was ok. Happy reading! "

"⭐️ 3/5 🌶️ 4/5 | First of series, werewolf/paranormal romance series. In my opinion the plot had potential but didn’t quite meet the mark. Could have used less 🌶️ and more plot. Feisty FMC and reserved MMC. 🌶️ scenes were kinda pushing the SA line, but was written like it was the “normal” for dominant wolf personalities. Only read if that is what you are into lol.
Tropes ~ fated mates, strong heroine

"Trey Coleman is a bad boy’s bad boy. Like, checks every box. If you like bad boys, this is definitely the book for you. Plenty spicy for those who enjoy that sort of thing, and I liked the worldbuilding for the werewolves/shifters."

"I've been in a book-slump for while now, with every book I read or started either suck or were average at best. But this one took me out of my slump.

It was sexy, the plot and story were intriguing.

It's one of the first "wolf" books I've ever read so maybe that's why I was so intrigued. But I was nonetheless.

I can't wait to continue more books in the series!!"

"The romance is steamy and the plot is actually interesting. The only ding against it is that the main character has alot of those "facebook shares" one-liners. You'll know what I mean when you read it haha."
