Road Master It would take a miracle.

Road Master I love just about everything about the movie. But I love that Rob Reiner basically just told Billy Crystal to improvise.

Road Master Mandy Patinkin bruised a rib from trying to not laugh during the Miracle Max scene.

Road Master How did Fezzik reach Buttercup from the boat?

Brandon Reed He reached down while it was afloat!

Brandon Reed Some suspension of disbelief is okay.

Jessica H I adore this movie. My sister literally required me to quote the "mawiage" speech at her wedding - note that none of her in-laws had ever seen it and I'm suddenly speaking in a weird voice lol. I did read the book in middle school, but my memory is fairly vague. I remember a lot more time going into Vizzini collecting Inigo and Fezzik and the author complaining about how he and his son didn't really connect, so I'm gonna say I prefer the movie. It's just so quotable, how could anyone pick a favorite part? There's nothing better than it, except for maybe a mutton lettuce and tomato sandwich when the mutton is nice and lean and the lettuce is fresh.

Sarah Ortinau I read this book to my camp kiddos, and the scene where she jumps in water and nearly gets eaten by sharks (in the movie it’s eels), my kiddos were terrified, so I had to stop and quote the scene where the grandfather says “she doesn’t die here, you looked concerned so I wanted to let you know that.” It’s also in the book as well since the book is very meta.

lyzander cross I had a funny experience with the framing in highschool my class was reading it together and our opinions on it at various points paralleled the grandsons, early on people were reluctant to read a love story then people were reticent to admit they were enjoying it and by the end the class was hooked and didn't want to stop reading

lyzander cross Interesting, everyone who I follow who's rated it gave it 5 stars. It's just alright for me, 3 stars

Brandon Reed Just didn't capture your imagination, or...?

lyzander cross It lacked an x factor, none of the soundtrack was memorable there wasn't any high tension moment where I was on the edge of my seat while watching there weren't any side-splitting moments it was okay but for me a movie that's just okay gets 3 stars

lyzander cross My favorite moment was "my name is Inego Montoya you kill my father prepare to die" but even that wasn't enough to bump it up to 4 stars

Jen Mitchell Have to admit DNF the book. Found the movie more engaging. Fav moment is swordfighting scene on clifftop between Montoya and Man in Black (Wesley). Then the swordfighting scene between Montoya and the six-fingered man.  "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." I really miss Mandy Patinkin from those days.

David Rachau Love the movie. Haven't read the book, which is odd for me. For the longest time, I thought the book didn't really exist, or it was just a novelization of the movie. I should read it one of these days, but I'm afraid it won't live up to the movie.
