"I cuh-ried. That scene in Alice in wonderland where she gets swept out of her house- that was me. I sad cried, I angry cried, I happy cried and here I am soaked in salty tears telling you to watch this. It holds it's own and more with the austen period dramas. I love aunt mary, the silent instigator just continuously giving surreptitious nudges."

"I loved the representation present in this movie! The thoughts and feelings Belle had as she moved through the stages of personal realization and identity were just so relatable and I loved her for it. The casting, historical context included, dress and staging, and interpersonal relations were so real. Wasn't expecting to love this but I definitely did!"

"Went into this blindly (as I do with most movies), not having read the description. I thought it was a Beauty and the Beast film idk idk. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that **Belle** is based on a true story ~ a true story about Ms. Dido Elizabeth Belle, a bi-racial woman who helped end slavery in Britain. Inspiring."

"Omg I’m sobbing. I can’t believe I’ve never heard the incredible story of Dido Elizabeth Belle Lindsay until today. Many creative liberties were taken and her real story wasn’t this fairytale like, but it’s still an amazing story. "
