I saw the original earlier this year and adored it; and I held out hope that while this one may not be as bold cinematographically, musically, or as refreshingly spare in story, that at least this retelling might be more gay. And it just wasn’t as gay as advertised, unfortunately. The horror wasn’t scary and it wasn’t entertaining, it was just super gross. I also don’t think the ending was as emotionally satisfying as the Argento version and disagree with (p1)"
