Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

"This is a great film, but certainly not as good as the first film. I understand to some degree why people were confused and someone disappointed at the plot. However, put simply, this sequel CANNOT be like the first Black Panther movie. Unfortunately, Chadwick Boseman and his incredible onscreen presence is gone, and that needed to be addressed. The tone of this film is somber but hopeful. The actors still convey passion in their roles, but in a different manner. The Wakandan nation is more vulnerable than ever, and the existence of a new powerful nation as well as Namor's origin story had to be included in the movie. Let's face it: Marvel would never make a movie just about Namor. I waited for decades for a movie like Black Panther was released. (I also liked seeing RiRi Williams origin story.) I didn't mind that this film shared screentime with a new culture. I appreciated hearing the different dialects of African such as Xhosa, and Yucatan Mayan, which provided a beautiful backdrop to the film. The action was larger than life, the soundtrack was beautiful to hear, and the clothing and set design were absolutely incredible. If there is another sequel, then I believe the action will most likely be closer to the original film. (Watch for the post-credits scene.)"

Taking place years after Wakanda has shown the benefits of their technology to the world, a new threat from the past is brought to the shores of Wakanda. Worth watching if you enjoyed the first film with implications to the future of the MCU!"

"I just finished watching this movie. Marvel did not disappoint once again. Overall, I enjoyed it. A great tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman. Lots of great action and stunning visuals. Angela Bassett does a great job as well, stealing a couple of scenes. That being said, I have a couple of observations that kind of annoyed me in this one. First of all, I HATE that they gave Namor a nose piercing. I obsessed on it every time he was on screen. And I also wish he looked more "buff" for lack of a better word, he looked a little soft for the character. Secondly, some of Namor's people seem to have feathers in their attire. Where the hell did they find feathers in the ocean. And lastly, Wakanda is supposed to be a land locked country so to have them go to war with Atlanteans seems like a stretch. But I can suspend disbelief for this point. 8/10"

"Tonal whiplash the movie. One moment this movie has a beautiful somber tone that contemplates loss and how we should pick up the pieces after the fact then we have ocean man with wings on his feet making veiled threats to a queen and a princess with spears in their hands. Should have either recasted BP and went with the original plan for BP2 or stay a grounded character drama. It tries to do both and it just left me confused at the end. "

"I always think that I’m getting burned out on Marvel stuff but then I watch the next movie and they are always just good fun movies. This was awesome. I liked it better than the first one. The heroes are all women and bad ass. Great fight scenes, cool CGI, and the new black panther is perfect. The anti-villain and his crew were cool. All this without even mentioning how wonderful they did with handling Boseman’s death. "
