"Was a fan of the book by queen Judy Bloom as a kid and loved the adaptation at 30. A sweet, funny and perfectly cringe look at being an 11 yo girl."

"My only knowledge of the book is my 10 year younger sister loved Bloom’s books when she was a kid. This movie, however, is just absolutely fantastic. Goes on every future coming of age list. The preteen actors are blow you away good. It’s funny, it’s sad, it’s super cool. I’m sure the draw of the book is that a lot can see themselves in the story or having similar experiences. I know the parallels to my life are outright unbelievable. For all ages. I wish my daughters were younger so I could watch this with them. Maybe I’ll make ‘em anyway. "

"Show this to your bigoted grandparents who disown people for begin gay to show them how crazy it is that their religious ideology pushes people apart rather than uniting."

"One word: Innocence! What a huge difference from today’s world. Part of the decency was the lack of internet/social media back then, less competition and more innocence. Pure and simple! Nothing will beat the good old days and I actually feel bad for todays generation and teens for not having lived through the childhood innocence as it should be. Beautiful movie also with a nice morale at the end. "

I can't imagine anyone not liking this movie. So incredibly good!!! Terrific cast!!! So fun!!! All perfect in every way!!! That scene in the Clark Drug Co. store I was laughing uncontrollably, OMG, just way too funny. I can't recommend this movie enough, best I've seen in a long time. The music from that era was an added plus. Oh, Kathy Bates was hilarious! It was mostly funny, yet there were also serious/touching moments as well."

"Oh, my goodness, I loved this! It was a special look into the process of growing up and becoming a woman, with all that entails. Margaret was one to root for through and through as she went through the vulnerable moments of puberty with her friends and family trustfully by her side. "
