"Now a horror classic, this haunted my insomnia induced hallucinations for years. I like the book as well but this is cinematic greatness. Recommended. "

"Stanley Kubrick's horror masterpiece. Jack Nicholson is perfect in the role of Jack Torrance who spirals into madness. Brilliant. 10/10"

"Jesus I already know I’m gonna get heat for this being a horror fan and all BUT the more I get older the more this movie is just…boring. I also don’t agree what happened on this set and it shouldn’t be looked over because people think Stanley is a genus..I think he was a grumpy old fart and that reflex’s in his work. That might be some peoples cup of tea but for me, no thanks. Something’s in this movie are very effective like the stuff with Danny but I just can’t sit and watch the whole thing it’s not with it to me."

"This was a great movie. Also very long if I’m not mistaken it’s been awhile since I seen it. I need to watch it again"

"One of the films that shaped me as a youth, and a human. To this *day* this is a work of art that creeps me out if I'm watching it alone. That 70s cabin fever-style aesthetic (the mental affliction not the early 2000s film) always strikes me as unnerving, the soundtrack is unsettling, and the cast is absolutely perfect. There is a frame of Nicholson's face that will haunt me for the rest of my days. As eerie as it is brutal and weird, this one really has a hold on me. LOVE IT"

"The first time I finally watched this was quite recently. Maybe it's because I'm way late and I've seen a million horror movies but I don't think this one aged well. Pacing was sooo slow. But for its time I can kinda see how this one was iconic in horror."

"Def best of everyone involved. Hard to take notes because I was into the movie. Really the first knowledge of the Overlook hotel was the 30 Seconds to Mars music video of The Kill haha Now I can see why they used it."
