"This movie was my first exposure to Shia LaBeouf, who impressed me back then in his role as a magnetic character. He is sent to Camp Greenwood, a juvenile detention camp after he is wrongly accused of theft. The cast was strange, but the acting was good. The story ends up becoming one of quirky mystery and redemption. Sigourney Weaver was good in her role as a villain, and seemed to fit well with the storyline of Star-crossed and ill-fated lovers. Jon Voight plays camp counselor Mr. Sir. Dulé Hill and Patricia Arquette fill out the rest of the cast."

"It was one of my faves when I was a kid. We read this book in sixth grade and then watched the movie, and we even themed our whole classroom around it, down to asipting nicknames from the book. So, it probably has some nostalgic attachment to me. I enjoyed the storyline of the curse passed down through generations. Gave it an otherworldly feel. "

"Good family movie, loved the stories intertwined especially with Kate Barlow and Sam with the peaches and onions. Can’t miss classic Sigourney Weaver and her character. I like to quote the “Well excuuuse me” sassy southern reply at people."

"Love this movie! I really enjoy Shia LaBeouf movies, and this one’s no different. I read the book a long time ago, but I enjoyed that so I watched the movie after. I always come back and watch it every once in a while because is super good!"
