"Everything you need to see for this film you can get from the trailer. The only decent parts of the film are from the trailer.
Spoilers:
The plot involves a ripped Santa getting kidnapped by a troll witch that shape-shifting herself into a 25 year old with a baby face. In fact, the whole security team, minus, I think 3 people, gets kidnapped. I'm not sure if Mrs. Clause got kidnapped prior to Santa or not. Wouldn't he know that is not his wife? And, the evil witch's plan is to use Santa's powers to make snow globes that once touched imprison you. She wants to imprison everyone naughty. What does she deem as naughty? I think in her eyes, every single person would be considered naughty. What then? Are her and her 12 kids going to take over the world?
It is just such a weird plot.
I will never watch this again. I watched it this first watch all the way through just because I was curious where they were going with it.
Oh and what is with that slap game? Dumb kids are going to want to try it and give themselves concussions or worse. What were they thinking? "
"I loved this Christmas movie. I thought it was fun and lived the Nordic lore connection. I like the creative liberties that they used to create a mythological universe that has magic and all things that humans consider fake. I liked the tech and the action scenes. Great watch. I'll be rewatching next year. A++"
"Red One will not blow you away. It doesn't do anything different, it doesn't have a plot twist, a head-banging soundtrack, it's just a simple, fun movie. Chris Evans and The Rock act excellently in this movie. It's a recommend for me!
P.S. that's not JK Simmons acting in the movie, that's just clips of him taken from an upcoming biopic based on himself."
"It delivered everything it promised to, and did so beyond my expectations. It's a cute kid/family movie with great Christmas CGI, fun action sequences, a cast I loved, and plenty of adventure. Little tiny kids may not be able to keep up with all the action, but I personally think it's appropriate and enjoyable for all ages 8+. There are a few cuss words (i.e. sh*t), but nothing kids haven't heard at school and on the internet. Overall, I really liked this for what it was. It feels high quality, you get lots of action/adventure, and it's so Christmas-y. Plus, I have a special place in my heart for mall Santas. "
