"i wanted to like this movie. i'm queer, have been to fire island (once, i am poor and prefer cheap camping/hostelling near provincetown), and i do like pride and prejudice. i'm really glad for the intersectional diversity and understanding of how gay asian men are treated by the gay white community. but MY GOD were the characters annoying. i'm not even talking about their femininity; i just mean how shallow their personalities were and how uninteresting they were as human beings. it's pretty predictable too. if you like lots of rom-coms, you'll probably love it. i just can't get into most rom-coms at all."
