"Well, this was a sweet escape! I wasn’t expecting this romcom to be so lighthearted and playful with witty banter, a feel-good vibe, and a fun supporting cast. Actress Sarah Shahi as "Zahra Bankston" (the White House Deputy Chief of Staff) was so cute & humorous; I LOL'd at her entire performance in the hotel scene where she catches Henry hiding in the closet—she had some really clever & funny lines there. I’m tempted to watch this again sometime just because I felt I got TWO pieces of eye candy for the price of one!! 😻 🍭

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/4 I don’t usually do royalty romance or royalty anything really but had made an exception for the book due to its themes and did enjoy it a lot! So was looking forward to the movie. Well I pretty much loved it! For the aficionados, I read it years ago and can’t compare it too closely to all the details but this is decidedly better than a hallmark movie. It’s not saccharine, the leads were super appealing and they kept me invested in their romance and its outcome, plus I loved the political edge, as in actual election politics but also socially. I mean I got emotional at the end..more for the beautiful monologues and how much really has changed in my lifetime. Sure this is a lovely fantasy world but one within reach. It had me feeling so optimistic..at least for awhile before I turned back into my cynical self lol. I could quibble (yeah there was some mild cheese and other stuff but nothing cringey) but if it can spread a little light and love in the world as well as entertain I count it as well done 🤩"
"I liked this adaptation of Red, White, & Royal Blue more than I was expecting to. There are some changes but it mostly works. I appreciated that it makes Henry a POV character as well. I was also delighted to see that at one point Alex is reading One Last Stop and that the author herself, Casey McQuiston, gets a little cameo."
