"I could not get through ten mins of one episode. First-so many ads. Then, the hosts are just annoying. The banter with inane facts about the town the murder takes place in…why? Just get to the story. I gave up and never got to any murder."

"Horrible! Nothing but old, tired, stereotypical jokes and making fun of life in small towns. Their constant laughter at their own jokes is so irritating I couldn’t make it through half of the first episode. "

"I love this podcast so much - James does incredible research on the towns and the murders while also being so funny I laugh out loud constantly. It’s more entertaining than TV to me - I literally sit and do puzzles while listening to an episode of this podcast every night"

"I’ve listened to a LOT of true crime podcasts. Serial is the worst I’ve heard. Small Town Murder is by far the best. Features actual research! Facts! Court documents and quotes! Storytellers should don’t come into the story with a predetermined opinion that the guilty is actually innocent because “feelings” and best of all, humor to cut through the dark descriptions of man’s inhumanity against man. "They combine murder and some Jokes! And make it less sad! They never make fan of the victims. Just stupid things around the murder! Its a really good listen. Before you know it the hour as passed by "

"I've been to their live show. They are dead set that the crime and the victim are not to be made fun of, but those who commit the murders are often laughable people"

"This podcast is just a good time. If you don’t like comedy with your murder I wouldn’t recommend but if you do this one’s a 10/10. The hosts are actual comedians and best friends that make actually funny commentary. Most comments are about mediocre cops and lackluster investigation skills with breaks for fun banter or especially hostile judgement. None of the comments are made to be disrespectful to the victim of the crime or their surviving families. They’re assholes but they’re not scumbags."
