You Must Remember This is a storytelling podcast exploring the secret and/or forgotten histories of Hollywood’s first century. It’s the brainchild and passion project of Karina Longworth (founder of Cinematical.com, former film critic for LA Weekly), who writes, narrates, records and edits each episode. It is a heavily-researched work of creative nonfiction: navigating through conflicting reports, mythology, and institutionalized spin, Karina tries to sort out what really happened behind the films, stars and scandals of the 20th century.

"I heard this was great and maybe it is but I could not get past the narrator’s voice. It was such an affectation. I don’t know if she really talks like that or she’s doing it for the show but it was so obnoxious I turned it off within five minutes."

"An intense experience of the Hollywood glamour of highs and lows. The societal impact is prevalent in the retelling of stories of the elite is made even more real through clips and journals. I listened to the Judy garland episode and it left me in tears. There’s beauty under the darkness of plastic veneer of sexy world of Hollywood"

"Definitely worth a listen. I started with the season about Sharon Tate’s murder, and then pretty much listened to the rest of the episodes "
