VanceThis was my first time watching Lilo & Stitch and it's an excellent movie. I haven't seen the live-action version (I do know about the changes and controversial ending) but I have to give it thanks for putting the original back on my radar. This is solidly in my top 5 Disney movies.
VanceI really wanted to like this more than I did. The cast is solid but a lot of the humor and jokes didn't land for me. Definitely has a strong Friday vibe.
VanceWatching this for the first time after finishing Andor. This is definitely what I'd expect a Star Wars movie version of Andor to be. Lots of droids, lightsabers and epic space battles.
VanceIt's classic Wallace & Gromit mixed with the Child's Play remake and a dash of Fast & Furious.
VanceThis is a solid vampire horror/comedy. There are some late twists and tonal shifts that don't fully work for me but your mileage may vary. One thing I'll never understand, and I've noticed a trend of this in recent Movies and TV shows, is when characters don't refuse to ask questions when given the opportunity to get more information about the abnormal or otherworldly thing they've just encountered. To say more would be a spoiler but you'll know the scene when you see it.
VanceThis is a modern-day Rambo (First Blood). This was my first Aaron Pierre movie and I think he's got real star potential. Any time I watch a movie like this, I always think about the people who find themselves in similar situations but don't have the means or "a particular set of skills" to get justice. Great movie, nonetheless.
VanceThe Ryan Coogler/Michael B. Jordan connection is undefeated. One of the best things about Sinners is that whether or not you feel every scene or moment works, you know each was well thought-out and carefully crafted with purposeful intention. The level of execution on display is impressive. This film has so many layers and is insightful while also being highly entertaining. ****SPOILERS BELOW**** That said, I didn't fully get Delta Slim's sacrifice to buy them time to escape at the end, only because these Vampires didn't seem to be blood-thirsty enough to gang up on a random person vs. going after their main targets. Plus, the Vampires had them so outnumbered, I'm not sure how anyone besides Smoke lasted more than a minute after Grace invited them in.
VanceWatched this as part of a Boys Watching Buffy x Buffy the Gilmore Slayer podcast crossover episode. Had a lot of fun talking about the magical pants and questionable dads.
VanceThis is a hilarious satire/mockumentary with great meta jokes. Matt Berry is incredible here. His 'One Track Lover' song in the sixth, and final, episode is a must watch.
