Alessandro RosboroughThe chapters are really long, and can practically stand as books themselves. The analysis of Wagner and his influence switch back and forth between actual history and various works of fiction that it can be hard to keep track of real life and book analysis. However, it makes very interesting cases for positive influences and interpretations of Wagner while still addressing the composer’s infamous legacy. For anyone interested into a very deep dive into the composer’s expansive fin-de-siècle to 21st century influence, it’s a good book.
