Amanda Clark3.5 ⭐️

I love TK's humor and how she seems to finish my sentences when I'm reading as if I was writing the book myself. And everything I've read of hers is definitely entertaining, however...

This one was weird. Good, but just weird. I'm all about weird, but this was weird, weird. And figuring things out by chapter 2 is always disappointing.
Amanda Clark3.5 ⭐️

Even though I read this fairly quickly, it seemed somewhat slow-going until about 2/3 of the way in.

I wasn't sure what direction we were headed in for a majority of the time as the main character spent a lot of time doing more of the same.

Once the story picked up, it was fast-paced and more exciting; it just took a little while to get there.
Amanda Clark3.5 ⭐️

This one was okay- not bad, not great, just okay.

I found myself almost disliking the two main characters the further into the story I went. I did feel bad for them at times, but I was also so frustrated by them and with their relationship about 95% of the time. I get they both had their own struggles they were dealing with, but they were so wishy-washy and it fell a little flat for me.

I somewhat appreciated the ending, and I guess for their story it makes sense, but it felt like more of the same.
Amanda Clark4.25 ⭐️

I'm a big fan of TJR, but this was the first of her earlier, more romantic type books I've read. Ironically, it felt like I was reading an entirely different author, although I still really enjoyed it.

Funny how the Readers Group guide compared this to the movie Sliding Doors, because that's the same vibe I had the whole time I was reading this.

Something about the thought of "what if I'd done such and such differently...?" butterfly effect type of question has always been fascinating to me. It was interesting to see how the answer to that played out for the main character, but it also made me go into a rabbit hole of playing out different versions of some of my own choices.
