Anne Rose4.5 stars.<br/>This story is inspired by real events, and tells of former slaves searching for family members sold off before emancipation. The main characters are strong females, one from the late 1800’s, and one contemporary teacher learning and sharing the history. Fans of Before We Were Yours will likely enjoy this book as much.

Anne RoseThis is an interesting story and I enjoyed it, especially the 2nd half. I would recommend it to other historical fiction readers even though it had an unbelievable-but lovely- ending.
