Aruwyn ConnorOkay my history with this book goes back far. When I was in third grade I picked up this book for independent reading just for whatever. Since then I’ve reread it a couple times, despite the fact that I’m well beyond that reading level, and I cry every single time. Also would just like to note, it’s not like it’s a very low reading level, it’s just not as descriptive as maybe a book I’d read now, but I still LOVE this book. I HIGHLY recommend, especially for those around the third grade but I don’t know how many third graders use this app 😭
Aruwyn ConnorThis book is great, it’s not a challenging read, I binge read it in 5 or 6 hours. It’s really quite easy to read which is nice because then you get to focus on the storyline, but it was also missing that descriptiveness I love in a book. Sad moments didn’t hit as hard as they could’ve, and it didn’t really spark too much emotion in me. There were definitely moments where I had my jaw dropped. I texted my friend immediately after reading this part and told him how crazy it was. Overall good book, especially if you just want an easy read or are trying to get back into reading. I will say this book handles some heavy topics such as ⚠️⚠️⚠️ tw⚠️⚠️⚠️ suicide, self harm, murder, rape, and other various things. There are also some graphic scenes between some characters but they aren’t very long, there’s about 3 or 4, most quite short. But yeah I liked this book, definitely recommend it, I like the story line.
Aruwyn ConnorI cried when she said she believed there’s good in everyone. Very interesting read and I recommend to all.
Aruwyn ConnorSpoilers between the red circle emojis, but the spoiler ends after the second! Okay so I’m starting this off with this. I really enjoyed reading this book, I essentially read the entire thing in a day and I was hooked. After researching the author I’ve been told that a lot of her work is fantastic so I’ll have to check it out! Anyway, 🔴a lot of people found problems with the fact that the police never saw the secret cellar door however I understand that in order to tell the story, the book needs to have this fantacism to work, so I understand. While I’m not upset about that, I am kinda upset at the abrupt end. I feel as though no resolution was found and instead it was almost up to the reader. I know some enjoy that kind of book but it’s not for me 🔴 that’s the end of the spoilers, I will say this book contains modern day slavery and abuse, namely sexual abuse so do be aware of that, but otherwise I loved the premise of this book, I wasn’t expecting the turns or anything and there is one reveal which could be a twist to some but it fits right in, that it didn’t seem a surprise. Either way I totally recommend the book and if there were a better resolve at the end I’d have given it 5 stars!!
Aruwyn ConnorI just finished reading this book, and I definitely was not expecting the turn this book took. I didn’t know anything about it prior to reading and I loved it. Reminded me of my best friend who moved away that somehow still manages to be my best friend. I was captivated. I loved it!
Aruwyn ConnorWas fine. Never got past the second season I think. Overrated.
