Bella CoulterThis novel perfectly encapsulates the difficulties surrounding holding a title and the underlying mental health issues taht racked both main characters. Alongside this, the author allowed for a lighter retelling of their lives opposed to a classic rundown of their history. This caused me to desire to know more about Ludwig and Sisi without feeling a overwhelming urge to quickly finish the story. Additionally, the progression effortlessly displayed only the significant aspects of both leaders.
Bella CoulterThis rendition of Medea’s life evoked a sense of nostalgia in terms of the progression of life for me. Accordingly, I adored the graphics and the overall aesthetic of this novel through display of various colors and elements. Additionally, asides from a few minor grammatical errors, the author wrote about this Greek mythological character in a swift and elegant manner.
Bella CoulterOverall, this novel contained the perfect amount of spice in order to fully convey the desires of both Hades and Persephone. Alongside this, the author progressed the story in a way that allowed for a necessary mix of romance and conflicts. However, I felt that the writing itself was not mature enough to express the emotional depth that was required. I don’t mean this in terms of how she elaborated on the sexual aspects of the novel, rather, I mean the conversations between the characters and how she discussed feelings as a third perspective. Additionally, certain aspects of this piece were redundant. Therefore, certain paragraphs could have been completely removed and would have allowed for a more concise story.
Bella CoulterThis novel was perfect from start to finish. It was extremely difficult for me to put this down due to the way the author effortlessly discussed all of the emotions of the characters through each of their perspectives. She truly understood the beauty in perfectly describing everything that she wrote about. This includes the scenery, attractive characters, etc. Alongside this, there was no unnecessary words due to her lack of redundancy. In terms of the storyline, I would have preferred more time between Achilles and Briseis. However, I recognize that the author progressed the story based on the actual Iliad rather than playing more into her own fantasy. Overall though, this novel was perfection in every regard.
Bella CoulterThis YA romance was absolutely hilarious from start to finish. It’s difficult to locate novels with such a strong comedic quality, which elevated the piece. Alongside this, the authors natural tendency to elaborate on everything throughout the story emphasized the key points and drove the plot forward. Additionally, I was surprised at my connection with this story despite my disinterest in YA literature in general. However, the flow of the story alongside the hysterical banter between Sebastian and Sadie allowed for a deeper appreciation for the authors sense of humor and this work overall.
Bella CoulterThe slow burn between Ash and Megan was essential in driving the plot forward. Alongside this, the progression of the story was well thought out and didn’t allow for any boredom. Overall, my favorite aspect of this novel was the how technology ruins natures natural way of evolving. This tied into modern day issues and elaborated on the vitality of nature, itself.
Bella CoulterThis novel was difficult to get into at first because of the cultural differences and the characters way of expressing themselves. However, once I pushed myself to continue reading, I came to appreciate their lifestyle for what it was without inflicting my experiences and perception of the world upon the individuals. This was necessary in order to better reflect on how the tribes evolved due to colonialism.
Bella CoulterI felt that the author conveyed a significant message overall which was that our motives may determine the fate of those that surround us. Through the Salem Witch Trials, the author allowed the reader to identify how our choices dictate our feelings surrounding others for the rest of our lives. It also begs the question, “does one mistake dictate the rest of my life”? Additionally, I felt that every line held importance. The author was direct and didn’t add redundant information. Overall, this play was well written and showed the unjust nature of how the Salem witch trials played out.
Bella CoulterI immensely appreciated the banter between Ash and his brothers. It added a necessary comedic effect and elevated the story overall. As for the romance itself, I loved both Ash and Eva’s characters and every aspect of their relationship. They both valued one another and I wasn’t cringed out very often throughout this story. However, in terms of Ash, I didn’t absolutely love the authors addition of giving Ash long hair. I felt that that was unnecessary and it ruined certain scenes for me. All in all though, this story was a fun read and definitely wasn’t monotonous.
Bella CoulterThis collection of poems amazed me because of the emotional depth that the author explored through the perspective of a teenage girl. Alongside this, I enjoyed the length of each page and the trajectory of the story up until the end. However, I wish that what occurred to Ethan hadn’t. Overall, I love that the author discussed how physical abuse affects your well being and how certain individuals are not able to find a way out of that situation.
