cherlinsamazing story. the first half was a little slow because it was all setup for the big heist, but once you get past it and they make it to the ice court, everything just goes crazy. absolute page turner, loved it, especially loved how everything almost went completely wrong, and i love kaz.
cherlinsthis book was beautiful. i loved the world, and i’m so excited to see more of it in the next book. big leviathans attacking walls in the middle of a whodunnit murder mystery?? yes please! the focus was mainly on the murder, which i was fine with because i loved the investigation process. i never felt bored. din and ana had a lovely dynamic, and i hope to learn more about who they are as people. there is SO much that can happen here 😍
cherlins2.5 stars. spoilers ahead. i like the concept, its nice, but...what did i just read ykno? the way Xaden calls Violet that dumb ass nickname when they have sex, or during really "serious" scenes it ruins the whole thing lmao. it was fine at first but then he kept saying it and i was like ??? then dont even get me started on dain. i hate that mf with a burning passion like who tf is he??? also that whole dragon sex scene was so weird gbye. the writing itself is pretty mid, and it was so impossible to understand the squads i just didnt even try. and why tf does the author like info dump every time Violet is having a panic attack? as if im gonna read all that byeee that was so bad??? 🤨 my god and when every time she orgasms she destroys **** with lightning like that isnt hot its literally COMEDIC am i supposed be enjoying that??? the romance between Xaden and Violet was soo random it gave me whiplash? this is supposed to be “enemies to lovers” but there wasnt a point in this book where i felt they ever hated each other because Violet is always frking him with her eyes and he’s always helping her??? but whatever. i gave this more stars because i was never bored and because i liked the dragons as watered down as they were.
