Hannah Blodgeti read this as an exercise at the time as an aspiring clinical psychologist who wanted to understand both REBT and Ellis better and his unique way of thinking by reading something from his voice. While there are some blatantly misogynistic and homophobic ideologies in here—the overlying ideas here about how we as humans make things out to be so much worse than they are and with a little bit of mental restructuring we can save ourselves a lot of anxiety, stress, worrying, time, and get the things we wound of life. while he may have spoke about woman trying to marry and keep a husband, most of the ideas can be applied to everyone and other subject matters. it is a must read in my opinion for that reason; while some ideas about ‘man hunting’ could be correct, i do not think in 2025 this is a manual on how to get a man, this was written over 60 years ago. however, it will help you lead a better life in a lot of ways. the only reason i don’t give it 5 starts is because of the aforementioned misogyny, homophobia, and the fact that a lot of it dry and boring and i prefer reading fiction.
