AlexiaI read this book for the first time in 8th grade — it’s the first book that ever made me bawl my eyes out. I’ve thought about this book a lot since then. I’m 26 now and Deadline wasn’t quite as traumatic the second time around, but it sure does hold up. The main character’s precociousness is a little overdone at times but he makes for a likable main character and the story is just as powerful. Thankful to be reading this at this point in my life, because the world didn’t end when I was 18.
