BooksGillian Flynn

Meghan Sue AdamsTechnically I would rate this 3.5 ⭐️’s but that’s not an option This is my second Gillian Flynn book, I loved sharp objects! However I wasn’t expecting this to be the darkest.. quite possibly the darkest book I’ve read yet. I would not recommend this book to just anyone!!! It’s a gruesome telling of a family massacre, where there’s a loan survivor other than the suspected/convicted brother… Did he really kill them? What really happened? The pot twist was not expected!!! I feel there should be a trigger warning page though. ‼️Touches on unaliving animals, mutilation after unaliving animals, child molestation, murder, abusive relationships and friendships. ‼️ It kept me hooked where I couldn’t put it down, but found myself highly disgusted nearly the entire book

Meghan Sue AdamsI would give 3.5 ⭐️ My first fantasy in a while… prob since highschool when Twilight was first big. This was easy world building, almost dystopian in a way. Different classes, differentiated different people. The Silver’s have powers where the reds do not. There’s a war going. And an internal war in the Silver’s that you don’t really realize until later. Very well done I look forward to the second book!

BooksJennifer Hartmann

Meghan Sue AdamsGoing into this book I was told it was similar to a book called Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas.. to me the only thing I felt was similar was the big age gap. Just a heads up she lies about her age when she is 17… for a brief moment of spice. The book was not horrible, but I think the huge age gap ruined it for me. I feel like the book could’ve been half the length to be honest and was very repetitive in parts. I didn’t really care for the characters as well but reading is subjective.. I have loved all of Jennifer Hartmann‘s other books for the most part. Beware of large age, gap, lying about age with brief sexual interaction, physical, and verbal abuse to a minor

The Outsiders

BooksS. E Hinton

Meghan Sue AdamsI read this in high school as required reading and wanted to revisit it as an adult to see if I have a different perspective. I would rate it a 3.5 ⭐️, this story is about a band of brothers and friends called the greasers that aren’t considered financially well off vs the Socs (socials) that were known as the more financially well off. It follows these groups and some events that lead to some really sad moments. Although I knew what was coming I still cried. Unsure how they allowed this book in schools originally as it does touch on fighting, murdered, knife play and more. I feel it’s a book you need to read as a classic however if you are part of the bookworm community. Well worth it!

Meghan Sue AdamsI had read this in high school in 2008.. I wanted to revisit the story as an adult with a possible different perspective. Still a great classic… But felt it was extremely wordy and and repetitive this time around. The story follows a a few different characters and their perspectives and journeys while looking into some odd events that have occurred… If you don’t know the story of Dracula, it is a good vampire read. I personally gave it a three stars, as I feel like the book should’ve been half of what it was, but otherwise enjoyed. The audiobook was well done too!!

Meghan Sue AdamsWhat a story! I am impressed he read the audio as well!! JD Vance truly had a tough upbringing but made a beautiful life for himself given the journey to get there. His grandma was the main staple in his life to keep a good head on his shoulders.

Meghan Sue AdamsI enjoyed this book although moments were a bit unclear and the plot twist was one that I can’t stand.. the narrator knew the whole time! Agh, but it was worth the read. I couldn’t predict the outcome which always makes a great thriller!
