Noble SaffronWhen I first read Stalking Jack the Ripper, I was instantly encaptured by the way that Kerri Maniscalco writers. Her writing is so beautifully wound in her prose and pages. The relationship that is built between Audrey Rose and Thomas is absolutely astounding. Its so hard to put this book down. Who wouldnt want to self insert themselves into an 1800's Regency Era when there is a woman serial killer on the loose? Especially when that female is also apprenticing under her uncle under forensic sciences. Every character you meet is just another person added to your list for the Who Dun It moment. It definitely sends chills up and down your spine with the horrifically gorified details given to us throughout the book. I really hope the other three books are just as delicious as this was.

When I'm writing reviews I notice that my thought patterns tend to jump all over the place because if I love a book I'm going to jump around and tell you my favorite aspects. Its not ever in any particular order of the books progression, but it definitely makes me feel a special way that I must explain it as chaotically as possible.

The thing Kerri Maniscalco manages to do, is write a very interesting and strong female lead. She is pushing stereotypes and social norms and doing what she loves to do. However, it does get a bit annoying when thats the one thing she constantly refers to is that shes not like the other girls her family would rather he hang out with. But thats another coin to be tossed, is that she is in the high class society, and yet will go and disect a body after she's ate lunch. And yet, she also falls into her girlish habits, which is refreshing to see. I grew up liking lots of girly things, but also have a tomboyish attitude. I felt very reflected in the way that Audrey both held herself, and others to her standards.

The way that Audrey and Thomas think is amazing. They are geniuses in their field and I really hope that we get to see more of this dynamic duo in action in the later books. Their chemistry is natural, their flirting is natural. Between the two of them, everything flows smoothly together. They work off of each other and always tend to bring the best and wild sides out of one another. Its semi rivals to lovers as they aren't true rivals, they just bicker like they used to do back in the 1800s ya know?

The other thing this book does so very well is it blends every aspect within its pages so beautifully together. The subtle romance, the thriller, the who-dun-it, the obvious suspect trop, the rivals to lovers, the family drama, the horrors. Everything blends so well together. Nothing feels forced.

I really have high expectations for this author with three books left in this series, and three books in her newest series.

A solid 5/5, one of my best reads of 2022!
