Robin ValmojaObviously a classic tale, but the "classic" language is a bit laborious to get through.
Robin ValmojaAn absolute adventure. For as long as it is, it was an easy read. But for me, that contributed to my 5-star rating. Nothing like a good, long, cant-put-down story. What a treat.
Robin ValmojaWhat a TREAT! Sara Seager navigates life, love, loss, and space in such a harmonious way. The science was easy to follow and was intertwined so beautifully with grief and hope as a backdrop (without being kooky!) Dare I say 4.5 stars. I loved it.
Robin ValmojaMasc Mulan. Gender identity, queer, non-binary. Historical fiction/fantasy. The pacing was just too slow for me so I switched to audio halfway thru, but its a great story to *listen* to. The sex scene towards the end surprised me, given the general tone of the book..I was like OK Zhu Chongba you little freak lol
Robin Valmoja3.5 rounded down to 3. Has a sort of George Orwell feel to it in the first half just not as captivating. I did enjoy where the story went at the end. Overall, it was FINE. 158 pages and truly did not need to be any longer than that lol
Robin ValmojaSuch a fun read. I'll say I was a little impatient as I went along because I saw the movie first, but still an engaging story. Was definitely rooting for Watney who was absolutely relatable through his joking-through-the-trauma perspective.
Robin ValmojaEntertaining philosophical Sci Fi. It read like a fever dream. It's all dreamy, hallucinogenic, organized chaos. Questions the purpose in humanity, questions God/religion.
Robin ValmojaAn incredible read! Page turner, funny, dramatic, very science-y but easy to follow because you trust the guy doing the science. Wildly likeable characters. Even the characters you're not sure you're supposed to like, "gosh darnit", you like 'em. What a fun time.
Robin ValmojaGreat read, a lot of science to process. Fiction based on real people, events, science, and math. (Heavily dramatized tellings) If you liked the movie Oppenheimer, you're gonna love Benjamin Labatut's titles. Deep dive into the thinking, madness, and spirals of mathematicians, theorists, physicists. (Please read his book The MANIAC!)
