CeeCee4.5 ⭐️ Did I love everything about this series? No. Did I eat it up, leaving zero crumbs? Yes! I am absolutely here for these MMCs. The humor, the loyalty, the character arcs, the bonds of friendship that are forged….A++!! I was extremely invested in what happened to Gareth and I found myself skimming the spice because it was just happening too often. Even through I begrudgingly started this series after ZA3, I am glad that I did because I know a few of these characters are going to play a part moving forward in the ZA series and I like having the background information.
CeeCee3.75 ⭐️ I did not have a physical copy of this to reference while listening to the audiobook and that was challenging for me. I kept getting lost because I wasn’t following the names well and the narration didn’t change with a change of POV. The pacing felt soooooo slow in the beginning, I struggled. It picked up for me about half way through and finished strong. I will most likely read the next one, but I will definitely make sure I have access to a physical copy and hope it helps with my comprehension and investment in the characters.
CeeCee4.25 ⭐️ I have so many theories, and so many questions. I wasn’t sure I was going to like this one because I was concerned about the direction it was going, but I was pleasantly surprised. I am loving the character arcs and even more so the bonds that are forming. All these MMCs are finding a special place in my heart for different reasons. The Gareth POVs have my anxiety in a tailspin. I NEED ANSWERS.
CeeCee4.25 ⭐️ May I have your attention please…Lance Orion has entered the chat!!! Consider me addicted to this series. Is it just me or are these getting better and better? I died dead at that ending!! Must start next book immediately.
CeeCee4.5 ⭐️ I had so much fun with Phantasma I couldn’t wait to start this interconnected standalone which follows Ophelia’s sister after the conclusion of the games. We still get another creepy castle and deadly games to play but under different circumstances. I think I may have enjoyed this one even more than the first because I felt more connected to the characters. Overall this book scratches the mildly dark but still super fun with some spice in it itch, and I’m here for it.
CeeCee4.5 ⭐️ Got through this book in a single day. The creepy, haunting vibes had me hooked and I could not put it down. I love when a twist takes me by surprise and a story ends feeling wrapped up in some ways, but also leaves you with breadcrumbs for the next one. I am very excited to read Enigma and to hopefully get more questions answered about this mysterious castle and all its secrets.
CeeCeeThe second of a five book series and I am starting to get more invested in these characters. Each of the MMCs has something to like about them. I am currently a Leon fan because that dude just cracks me up. I’m loving the continued multiple POV chapters and am hoping I don’t have to wait til the last book in the series to find out what happened to Gareth.
CeeCee3.75 ⭐️ I was informed that I should read this after ZA 3, but after the cliffhanger that book left me on I was extremely hesitant to start a five book prequel series. While I’m still not yet convinced this reading order is necessary, I did enjoy being back in this world. This book is set 5 years before ZA and takes place at a different school. There are minor references to people in ZA. I am enjoying the murder mystery aspect and love getting Gareth’s POV included in the multiple POV format. I will be continuing this series.
CeeCee4.5 ⭐️ Be still my nostalgic Divergent dystopian loving heart. This is my kind of book. Were there parts that were predictable?…yes. Did the MMC say things that occasionally made me cringe?…also yes, but the overall vibe is a yes from me. I hope we don’t have to wait too long for the next book.
CeeCee3.5 ⭐️ Sadly, I had to push through this last book. I found myself checking out as I was reading it. The first book in this series was awesome and with each book after I slowly lost more interest. It had some redeeming qualities so I’m glad I finished, I just don’t foresee any rereads.
