I enjoyed seeing Thomas Brodie-Sanger in the role of the confident and flirtatious Jack Dawkins of Oliver Twist, 15 years later as a surgeon, living in Australia in 1850. David Thewlis plays the role of grimy and selfish Fagin, and seems to delight in it. Each episode leads up to a nail-biting conclusion which I thought was very satisfying."
