"Note to self: Stay away from Tupelo, Mississippi.
I'm not sure why I even watched this. I'm not a fan of Elvis, but everyone in Tupelo seems to be, because it's his birthplace. The story in this 3 part documentary is sort of interesting but it's told in a boring fashion. I actually dozed off a couple of times while watching it. 4/10"
"Well that wasn't what I expected! Not since Tiger King or Don't F@&k With Cats have I seen a more twisted, crazy , and unbelievable documentary! Some of the craziest southern characters you will ever meet. The way it was shot made me question if most of it really happened. An addictive watch that will leave you say What the Hell ??? "
"Lordy Lordy! As a southern expat living elsewhere now this doc took me back home to all the madness and endearing lunacy that was everywhere when I was growing up. At times, I thought I was watching a fictional work from the mind of Danny McBride....but it is all real. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the big finale of the events that made national news a few years back is fascinating but not even the most remarkable scene. Only in the US South could one possibly thread together amateur martial arts, political extremism, secret espionage programs, a severed head in a hospital freezer, the world's first Elvis impersonating brothers, ricin, & and a deep dive into the early days of the online conspiracy community (complete w MySpace pages and a cameo by the vaunted Gateway 2000)! Highly recommend! "
