The Power

" 4.25⭐️ What if girls physically evolve in order to have the ability to protect themselves against the physical power of men? It’s an intriguing premise especially when the natural progression of that builds to possibly leveling the power dynamics of our (still) male dominated society. Power has a lot of different meanings in this series and they’re all used so well here. Will women be just as dangerous to men? Even more so perhaps? Will it lead to more controls and outright totalitarian persecution of women? I say bring on The Power…but even I was questioning whether it would equalize power structures and bring about more balanced approaches of leadership OR be used as a means of dominance and revenge. I mean they both have their appeal. I read the book but I don’t remember it all that well so I thought this show was really good at escalating the drama and presenting us with these questions. The first season doesn’t answer any of them of course but expect there’s a battle coming. Looking forward to seeing where it goes."

"I knew absolutely nothing about this and grudgingly started it before the last two episodes have aired. Barely read the synopsis. It was going along just ok and then the last half of the 3rd episode drops the biggest, baddest bombshell on me and I almost cheer. I’m so glad I had no idea about this beforehand. I cant wait to watch the rest. I’ll drop this too, if you’re a fan of the orange guy, this might not be the show for you. "

"I am super excited for this series to start on Prime at the end of March. This has been one of my favorite books since I read it a couple of years ago. I’m really curious to see how closely they keep to the book because it can be very dark in places. But if you like dystopian/apocalyptic stories then I highly recommend this. I also recommend reading the actual book first before watching. The writing is amazing. "
