Probably a controversial ask. I'm looking to offend or start a fight. I'm genuinely interested in people's thoughts. How important is a books M.C. race or gender to you? Obviously, there are books that are specifically tied to that. I'm not referring to those. Also, in case it matters, I read exclusively fantasy and sci-fi.

Abigail BakerIn general, it doesn't matter at all except specifically to the story. Some stories work better with specific characters. I personally have a preference for books with male main characters. I'm not sure why I just do. I'm not apposed to other types of main characters, but probably 90% of my books are male leads.
