Mark Twain
"A GOLD MINE FOR SCHOLARS." *Deidre Carmody The New York TimesNow, in this extraordinary literary uncovering, the original first half of Mark Twain's American masterpiece is available for the first time ever to a general readership. Lost for more than a century, the passages reinstated in this edition reveal a novel even more controversial than the version Twain published in 1885 and provide an invaluable insight into his creative process. A breakthrough of unparalleled impact, this comprehensive edition of an American classic is the final rebuttal in the tireless debate of "what Twain really meant.""[A] MASTERLY RESTORATION . . . I wish this new version of Huckleberry Finn would be distributed to all the nation's classrooms as the basic text and lead to a badly needed reconsideration of the questions it raises." *James A. "so good! Huck is such an interesting character to study especially from a moral standpoint because he's debating with what he's been taught and what he feels is right. Tom Sawyer is absolutely hilarious in this one as well. these characters are so distinct. so many writers struggle to write different voices and Tom and Huck are just so perfectly written"

"Audio book is the best way to read Mark Twain's rich use of dialect. Huck Finn is definitely a darker story than Tom Sawyer."

"I had to read this for my honors class and struggled to push myself through it. I wouldn't say it's a bad book, but a classic should be timeless through all ages. I don't think this book is. There were a few chapters that dragged and if you've ever heard about it then that's all you need to know."

"If I had a dollar every time I read the N-word in this book I would be rich...<br/> As a senior in high school I had to read this book for school at first I didn't mind the N-word because I knew in the olden days that's what people called black people. But I found it distracting. Also, I know the author was trying to show the way these people spoke but even after I figured out what they were saying I had to go back and re-read a lot. I don't even like the storyline to be honest. It took me over a month to get through this book and I only read to chapter 33."

"Also, I read a different edition that Barnes and Noble put out, but I didn't see it on here and I suppose it's the same story either way."

"I used this book for my giant research project final and I read it through at least 10 times to try to find Jim's dialectical speech. Honestly have little more to say about it."

"It’s been a minute since I read this. High School to be precise. I thought the whole book was funny, and without spoiling too much near the end of the book when Tom & Huck meet up again. "

"What can be said by me that hasn't been said by people much smarter than I am. Giving it four stars because of the ending."
