The Berlin Boxing Club - Likewise Book Reviews
"4/5: The book takes place during the early stages of the Nazi regime so it doesn’t go too into detail about the horrors of the holocaust but definitely highlights some of the many struggles Jewish families went through during that time. However, I disliked how it was left off on an opened ending for readers to interpret the main character, Karl’s, journey. All in all, it was a great book, easy read with little comic like drawings!

"This is a compelling and heartbreaking historical fiction novel following a young Jewish boy in Nazi Germany. The author is descriptive and accurate in his retelling of this fictional story which is engaging and suspenseful. The additional drawings and comics compliment the story and the character’s development to tell a story from Karl’s perspective. This is a great pick for teens to learn more about the time period and how it impacted people."
