Isabel "Izzy" Crane and her family have just relocated to Sleepy Hollow, the town made famous by--and obsessed with--Washington Irving's legend of the Headless Horseman. But city slicker-skeptic Izzy has no time for superstition as she navigates life at a new address, a new school, and, with any luck, with new friends. Ghost stories aren't real, after all.... Then Izzy is pulled into the orbit of the town's teen royalty, Vicky Van Tassel (yes, that Van Tassel) and loveable varsity-level prankster Croc Byun. Vicky's weariness with her family connection to the legend turns to terror when the trio begins to be haunted by the Horseman himself, uncovering a curse set on destroying the Van Tassel line. Now, they have only until Halloween night to break it--meaning it's a totally inconvenient time for Izzy to develop a massive crush on the enigmatic Vicky. Can Izzy's practical nature help her face the unknown--or only trip her up? As the calendar runs down to the 31st, Izzy will have to use all of her wits and work with her new friends to save Vicky and uncover the mystery of the legendary Horseman of Sleepy Hollow--before it's too late. New York Times-bestselling writer Shannon Watters (Lumberjanes) and debut author Branden Boyer-White are joined by artist Berenice Nelle (Wanderlicht) in a coming of age tale that's at once a faithful homage and a free-wheeling spin-off of the classic Legend of Sleepy Hollow and everyone's favorite headless specter.

"A queer modern retelling of the headless horseman that was super fun with good art. I’m a total sucker for anything sleepy hollow related and this graphical novel didn’t disappoint. I might pick it up again during spooky season!"

"Book 3 of Heathens Hollow, where the rich pay for their wicked desires, but sometimes obsession takes over, and morals are thrown out the window with little care for the cost. <br/><br/>When Briar returns to her family estate in Heathens Hollow, it is to rest, recover, and heal from a long-time illness that kept her isolated for many years. The house has not changed a bit, but the elaborate hedge maze her grandmother coveted so much is still here, well-maintained and improved since she last saw it. Now that she is on the island again, she wants to breathe in the fresh ocean air and maybe have a bit of fun. Fun... that's something she has not had in a very long time, so she might look into what this infamous "Hunt" is all about, which is all the buzz on this island. <br/><br/>What Briar didn't expect was to be mixed in a tangled affair with two men on the island. <br/>Damiano is the quiet and very hot groundskeeper of her estate, who is the mastermind of the new additions to the maze on the property and knows every hidden path since he's the one who maintains it. <br/>Flint is a gorgeous bartender at "The Vault", an exclusive members-only establishment that offers people with certain appetites a place to indulge in privacy. Most anything goes at The Vault; you just need to have the money and social status to be a member. <br/>Damino and Flint are former lovers, current enemies, yet can't seem to stay away from each other, regardless of their messy past, and now they are both tied to Briar, for better or worse.<br/><br/>The Hunt approaches soon as the date was moved ahead of schedule. It's Heathens Hollow’s most dangerous ritual of debauchery. After an unfortunate accident on Briar's estate, and its maze being a favorite place for the Hunters to play, it could reveal something Briar, Damino, and Flint want to keep under wraps. Some things should stay buried in Heathens Hollow, but sometimes secrets get unburied on this island.<br/><br/>"

"Hollow is a cute throwback to the old Autumn story we know and love. The characters are fun, loveable, and adventurous enough to be an exciting release for teens this October.<br/><br/>While I might have preferred a retelling, this was fairly close, but I really did love this concept of Sleepy Hollow 200 years later in the current day. <br/><br/>The vibes were perfect, just enough Fall and Halloween and Headless Horseman to keep me entertained. This was a quick read, one that readers might like to revisit each time the season rolls around. All in all, cute, inclusive, and happy, Hollow is sure to be a great addition to your cozy Halloween collection."

"Wow...what did I just read? I won't lie. I'm not very familiar with the story of the "headless horseman." When I found this book I was absolutely intrigued. I had to read it. It may have been on the shorter side but I felt like I got the entire story within those pages. This story sucked me right in. This read was actually more of a content read than a cover read. Just by looking at the cover you would never be able to guess that there's some steam in it. I mean there's not a lot, but there's enough. And the ending? Completely leaves you wanting more. I cannot wait to pick up and read the next story in this duet."
