"Cute, cheesy, loved it! Enjoyed the e-mail aspect more than I thought I would."

"I actually really liked this despite the awareness that these people would go on to have children that are older than me. The premise is really well executed. Mixed media stories usually don't hit for me. Stories in texts and emails and letters and whatever else authors come up with usually feel constrained by the format they've put themselves in, but this time the story felt exactly how it was meant to be and I developed attachments to all the characters. In fact, I like Lincoln well enough and his story was fine (if a little on the nose for me because certain aspects of his life I can relate so hard to and there are certain parts that are basically my destiny) but I was actually more invested in Jennifer and Beth."

"Does Rainbow Rowell live in my brain? I don’t know how she knows these things other wise. Or maybe I’m not as alone in my thoughts as I thought. Which is a very nice thought, I think, despite the repetitive nature of these last two sentences.

This was delightful. But if it was only delightful it would probably have been a 4 star read for me. This was more profound than that. I’ve always grouped Rainbow Rowell and John Green together in my mind (and trust me, I could not love the two of them more) because they are the type of authors that make me feel seen. They put beautiful words to my complex feelings and obsessive thoughts, and they make the world seem a little less dark because of it.

This was less of a love story than a simultaneous narrative of personal growth. It’s also a lesson in friendship, of letting go and second chances, and also not to put everything on the internet (I’m laughing at the irony of putting all these thoughts...on the internet). It was many different things at once, but most of all it made me happy and full of love. And a happy, love-filled book is all I need right now."
"This was probably the cutest book that I’ve read in a very long time! It’s just one of those books where I got emotionally involved in the lives of the characters. Even though set on the cusp of the new millennium, it was still so very relatable to me when reading it in 2019 at 22. This book is about and offers so much more than romance. You get to follow the main character on a journey of recovery, self-realization, and love (for both himself and another character). It was great, reading as the character realized just how strong he could be. Lincoln’s character was just spectacular and I really liked how awkward, sensitive, caring and slightly funny he could be — for sure an unforgettable character!

Let’s not forget that I really loved the alternating viewpoints! It’s weird, but I absolutely love when books do this. Even though this is the first book that I’ve read by her, I can already tell that Rainbow Rowell has such a way with words and details and just the right amount of genius for her story plots. I can’t wait to read another book by her. My only thing is that I wish there was a second book! I want to know more about them! What happens later?? But alas, I know it cannot be (Wow, that was dramatic, I know)."

"LOVED this novel! Thought it was so cute and original and sweet."
"If you liked Eleanor and Park as a teen, this grown up Rainbow Rowell book is for you! It’s told from the point of view of the male protagonist, which is a nice switch up in the romance genre, and it’s “almost” believable. (He’s that sweet.) You’ll be satisfied with the ending and invested in all the characters."
"i had a bit of trouble really getting into the book at the beginning, it’s definitely the slowest slow burn i’ve ever read. i’m talking EXTREMELY slow burn... cry into the book slow burn... scream your head off slow burn. but the ending was very sweet and made it worth it (i still wish they got together sooner because i wish i had gotten to see more of their sweet and pure relationship!)"
