A mesmerizing debut novel for fans of Madeline Miller's Circe.Ariadne, Princess of Crete, grows up greeting the dawn from her beautiful dancing floor and listening to her nursemaid’s stories of gods and heroes. But beneath her golden palace echo the ever-present hoofbeats of her brother, the Minotaur, a monster who demands blood sacrifice. When Theseus, Prince of Athens, arrives to vanquish the beast, Ariadne sees in his green eyes not a threat but an escape. Defying the gods, betraying her family and country, and risking everything for love, Ariadne helps Theseus kill the Minotaur. But will Ariadne’s decision ensure her happy ending? And what of Phaedra, the beloved younger sister she leaves behind? Hypnotic, propulsive, and utterly transporting, Jennifer Saint's Ariadne forges a new epic, one that puts the forgotten women of Greek mythology back at the heart of the story, as they strive for a better world.

"I love greek mythology and this book did it so well it was evervthing I wanted I was invested so quickly I also love how it went back-and-forth between Ariadne and her sister and other characters along the way I really loved how this book showed that the actions of men never have consequences on them but always ends in the women getting punished or worst I love how that was touched on so often I love Ariadne she was so interesting to read about and loved her sister Phaedra and how she was manipulating a bunch of men lol her inner dialogue was my favorite I finish this book pretty quickly I couldn't put it down the ending of this book also made me cry lol I was shocked it was just so I was scared to pick up a & Greek mythology not written by Madeline
Miller but honestly Jennifer saint wrote this retelling In a way that was easy to follow and engaging it's definitely top 3 for Greek mythology retellings "
"Such an interesting story! I just did not love this rendition of it. I found the way Ariadne’s story was told undercut some of the strength I saw in her character and made her more of a bystander than an active participant in her life.
I would have rather her story follow a path that explored where she was powerful rather than one focused on how she was helpless to her circumstances.
Hopeful to read other Ariadne / Dionysus / Phaedra stories in the future. They are all very interesting characters that I was and am still excited to explore!"
