"3.5 stars ✨ <br/><br/>I love me some enemies-to-lovers, road trip historical romance, so it’s safe to say that this was definitely a book for me. The central conflict between Hugh and Sarah was resolved in a way that I thought made sense and it wasn’t left to the very last minute to be resolved. This book in the “Smythe-Smith” series is my favourite so far, having not read the last book “The Secrets of Sir Richard Kenworthy” yet; at some point I’ll finish this series and check it off my long TBR.<br/>"

"I loved that she chose to dig deeper into the character of Hugh Prentice. It was so interesting to get to know him. I also enjoyed that because of his injury, he is not the typical male protagonist, but he did not leave us unfulfilled. A fantastic example of the enemies to lovers trope, which the Smythe-Smith Quartet Series had not seen yet. I also loved the character, Sarah, who is so unbelievably strong. She is my new role model for sure. "

"I legit read this purely because I was feeling the Historical Romance today and this book delivered it. I think it was funny at times and cute. There were cheesy and unrealistic moments of course I think it's hard to avoid in most romance novels, but I still loved it!"
