"This book was sooo boring. I picked it up because of #booktok. There were a few book influencers who first are listening to the audio and reading along. Nothing wrong with that. But, they were like…don’t listen to the audio read the book..well, don’t do either one. Wish I can unread what I read 🙄"

"First and foremost, this is a very dark and twisted romance book. It's graphic with violence and spicy content, and can be disturbing for those who are not used to that type of book. The relationship between the MMC and FMC is NOT normal.

I don't always review dark romance books because of the content, and quite frankly, would rather some people who follow me (family, especially) not dig deep into some of the books I read. With that said...

The story is about two young children who are siblings, a boy and a girl, but are not blood-related. The boy has severe trauma issues which are obvious with how he acts, and he clings to his adopted sister like a lifeline. He doesn't look at her as a sibling, he feels like she is his in every way and not just a sister. The relationship gets intense, a traumatic event happens, which separates them for a long time, until later he finds her, and more disturbing things happen.

Cryptic? Yes, but since it's a very short story, I am not getting into much as it will ruin the storyline if someone wants to read it.

Due to issues with my eyes, most of the books I consume are via audiobook. The higher rating on this is due to the performance of the male character voiced by Joe Arden (Narrator). His portrayal of the character was amazing. I honestly cannot imagine any other narrators (even my favorites) would have done this particular character justice the way Joe does. There are several narrators that I love listening to and will purposely listen to a book if I see their name attached to it. Joe is one of them.

Again, if you do not like dark romance, do not read/listen to this book. Don't say I didn't warn you."

"Definitely a darker read!! For those who are used to the dark romance genre, go for it! However, for those just checking out the genre, I would suggest Haunting Adeline as a greater book to try before this one. So much ****, but worth the read. "

"Masochist meets Sadist ❤️

Foster brother Malachi is unhinged but he’s low key just vulnerable around his foster sister Olivia. Though I wished the book had a little more padding towards the end, it felt way too rushed towards the ending, but overall it was enjoyable.
Sibling romance
Spice"
