"This is a solid Splatterpunk novella. It's a quick, mindless read that will disgust you and make you uncomfortable, but if you're a Splatterpunk fan you know to expect it. I don't recommend this for the casual/average horror fan.
I'm always torn when I rate Splatterpunk books; if you're thoroughly disgusted after you finish reading, the author did a good job and should receive praise. But with extreme content like this that just repulses me, I feel guilty for rating highly. Judith Sonnet is an extreme horror guilty pleasure of mine for sure."
"If you’re looking for something to make your skin crawl, this may be your cup of tea. I contemplated finishing this book so many times. “Gross, this is so f**ked up!”, all I could think!"

"Ok. I needed a shot of gin to get through this book. Before I read it I saw a reddit post where the author said the whole point of the book was to challenge herself to write something incredibly gross so I'm giving it 2 stars because it did what it set out to do. Otherwise, I found the writing to be sub par that in a way made the book more bearable because I was able to find some humor in it. There were a few parts that just weren't realistic which I found annoying but contributed to the humor as well. Overall it wasn't AS graphic as I had anticipated but it was definitely very gross and not a book I would pick up again. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone even if you are into extreme horror because there is zero plot and the writing just isn't that good. In the afterword the author says she wrote, edited, and published the book in 10 days and you can tell. I would've liked to hear more about the motivations behind The Man and his actions other than "it's fun" even if briefly. At least it was a very quick read and counts towards my Goodreads reading goal"
"It’s a short disturbing, disgusting, splatterpunk novella; I recently just started getting into the genere and this book made me queasy. If you want to read this, do not ignore the warning at the beginning of the book and definitely do not ignore the warning again in the middle of the book. Overall I, for a very lack of better words, “enjoyed” reading this book. Sonnet knows definitely knows how to get under your skin and make you feel nauseated while reading this book specifically. It will have you saying, “oh this gets a lot worse right?” A lot worse than you would’ve originally thought. "
"well that was gross"
