Lemony Snicket
A new stand-alone adventure--appropriate for all ages--by Lemony Snicket, one of the twenty-first century's most beloved authors. For more than twenty years, Lemony Snicket has led millions of young readers through a mysterious world of bewildering questions and unfortunate events. With this latest book--a love letter to readers young and old about the vagaries of real life--longtime fans and new readers alike will experience Snicket's distinctive voice in a new way. This true story--as true as Lemony Snicket himself--begins with a puzzling note under his door: You had poison for breakfast. Following a winding trail of clues to solve the mystery of his own demise, Snicket takes us on a thought-provoking tour of his predilections: the proper way to prepare an egg, a perplexing idea called "tzimtzum," the sublime pleasure of swimming in open water, and much else.Poison for Breakfast is a classic-in-the-making that--in the great tradition of modern fables like The Little Prince and The Phantom Tollbooth--will delight readers of all ages.

"Short and kind of silly. If you like Snicket's writing style this is a good one."

"I stumbled upon this book while in the bookstore. I was immediately captured by the cover. Very Lemony Snicketesque lol. I fell in love with his books as a kid reading A Series of Unfortunate Events, so I had to snag this one too! This book did not disappoint AT ALL! Same witty humor and the same writing style that I grew to love from him. Excellent book! 10/10!"

"<strong>Just ok</strong><br/><br/>Well. This was amusing and the typical writing style of Lemony Snicket, but it was also a bit dragged out. All in all it wasn't a waste but I wasn't impressed either."

"this book is the definition of delightful. it’s weaves philosophical ideas with a plot in a way which truly makes for a pleasant read, unlike many books about philosophy which often make your head ache with the information about knowing nothing. snickett’s unique voice gleams in each page. this is a short but, impactful read that will leave you feeling content, nothing close to as if you’d have eaten poison for breakfast."
