The Cruelest Month - Likewise Book Reviews
"Louise Penny always does a good job of combining mystery and crime with communal warmth (and just enough strife to keep it interesting). I always enjoy reading how Inspector Gamache navigates relationships with colleagues and suspects. (Not ashamed to admit that I learn from this fictional character how to calmly have an intense conversation? Love his calm.) Sometimes the motivation for the murder seems a bit flimsy to warrant the actual deed but this is still an engaging read!"

"This series has become one of my favorites! My husband and I have a new tradition: whenever we spend a weekend driving 10+ hours we listen to one of these books! Perfect timing on this one since “the cruelest month” actually refers to April. Another well plotted mystery, I certainly didn’t expect the ending!"

"I recently read “where the crawdads sing” and loved that! “Lost girls” was a surprisingly fun fluff read. For a mystery, I loved Kate Morton’s “the lake house” and Ruth ware’s “the death of Mrs westaway”"

"You just can’t go wrong with Louise Penny. I love the imagery she evokes. I feel like Three Pines could be my hometown. She writes such “pleasant” murder mysteries!"
