Threatening notes from beyond the grave. A ghostly face at a window. A woman found murdered in a locked room that no one could have entered. Hercule Poirot is back, and mystery is on the menu. On holiday in Iraq, Poirot visits an ancient site that his good friend Captain Hastings is helping excavate. But what begins as an entertaining diversion becomes a professional puzzle to challenge even Poirot's brilliance when the head archeologist's unpopular wife is killed. Though there is no shortage of suspects, clues are few and misleading, and the local authorities turn to their esteemed guest for help. It's a double dose of delight for Agatha Christie fans as David Suchet returns to his celebrated role as the debonair Belgian sleuth in this feature-length adaptation of MURDER IN MESOPOTAMIA.

"This is a Hercule Poirot mystery but is not from his perspective. It is from Nurse Amy Leatheran's and offers a new light and voice into the story.

This is set at an archeology dig. The Nurse was asked by the dig leader to take care of his skittery wife. The nurse agrees.

The Nurse is getting settled in to the new environment when, on one busy but normal day, the wife is killed. Hercule Poirot, who was just passing through the area, is stopped and asked to solve this case. The Nurse is asked to accompany Poirot and help him with the case.

I thought this outsider's perspective of Poirot and his ways was entertaining. The nurse spent some time with Poirot when he was questioning suspects and gathering information. She said it was like being a doctor's assistant again, because Poirot would send her to do tasks while he did others.

This book seemed pretty straightforward. I thought it was one character, but yet again, my guess was wrong. The big reveal at the end was honestly the most exciting part for me."
