I don't know if I just wasn't connecting to the story or what but I didn't like this one from Mona Awad...Which hurts to say because this was my most anticipated release of 2023 and Bunny and All's Well are all-time favorites of mine. The Mona Awad magic was there, I loved the commentary on beauty and the unsettling, AHS-like atmosphere but that was about it. It just felt kinda boring, disjointed and got repetitive after awhile...Am I alone here? I'm curious to know everyone's thoughts.

Can we talk abt these types of covers pls. Cause I was reading sweet heartbreak and why does it have this girl on the cover here. I love the covers on other apps. I personally don’t like people on covers especially if they are more realistic.

If any of you read it what are your thoughts ? This is the start of a new series. The premise is that there are Mods, people with special powers, that are being persecuted. The protagonist is a Mod young woman who has a lot of special powers. She gets in a situation where her best option is to train with her enemies to earn her way into a special military unit. I like a well executed academy trope. There is some spice and I found the twist to be rather obvious.

I picked this book up from a library sale, and it’s a very solid read. I enjoy the surreal, gothic atmospheric feeling of the story and Lauren Oliver’s writing keeps the page turning. Will say if you don’t like disjointed storytelling, or unlikable characters this may not be for you. Also, does mention death and suicide a lot, so if those are triggers may not be for you. I think it’s good for fans who like “Mexican Gothic or “A house with good bones

This book had me hooked from the start. It's about a poor young woman who survives by being a thief. When a theft goes bad she is saved by being transporter to the fae realm. She has a hate love relationship with the fae warrior that saved her. He needs her to use her alchemist abilities to help win their war. Really looking forward to the 2nd book which is coming out in late 2025.

Just got The Book Of Azrael and was wondering if it is worth reading. Is there any romance and if so, is it good?
