Zeke I’m not sure if S-Town 100% counts as a true crime pod, but it definitely has the feel of one and it’s sooo good.

Zeke Definitely raised some ethical questions though!

Benjamin Lemley The ethical questions might be worthy of their own thread. I think it's really interesting how great the podcast is while still raising so many questions

Meredith Lavergne It’s gotta be Serial (s1). I would literally relisten to the whole thing on every roadtrip with someone new that summer. Sooooo interesting and I think really started the true crime pod craze

Patrice Patterson I couldn’t agree more, serial was one of the first crime podcast I listened to!

Benjamin Lemley Me too! I have listened to season 1 like 3 times at this point lol

Elise I would vote for Serial though there are a number of issues it raised as well - including real disconnects between the producer and the people she was profiling.

Pamela D I am a huge TRUE CRIME Fan but I have tried TWICE to listen to MY FAVOURITE MURDER and I just can’t get into it. It’s always at the top of the lists. Maybe I should start at a different place?

Chelsie Johnston I personally stopped listening to My Favorite Murder because I couldn't get into the more personal based episodes & the time it would take to get to the episode's story so it's not just you!

Cherry This is one of my favourites! The hosts are so good and I love that they try and end it in a light hearted way with the dog stories at the end of each episode ❤️

Tamara Ogden White Lies is good, so is In the Dark.

Belynda Coffman I also lived White Lies. I found myself in tears for the descendants of the people involved. So sad that we’ve not come any farther in civil rights in our country. And that the repercussions of one incident would still be touching lives.

Belynda Coffman I love Culpable! I feel there has to be someone out there with info that could come forward and close the case!!

Chris Rufkahr (she/her) I just listened to Apology which is about the Apology phone line a guy set up back in the 80s. It's more than just crime in case you want a break from a podcast focuses on just the crime itself.

Cristy Newell I listened to that too…. I wanted more out of it than it gave but it was interesting. Would’ve loved to hear more of the calls.
