I have a sci-fi question about guns. Any type. Chemical projectile, railgun, energy, plasma, particle... In a setting in which powered armor exists, such as Halos Mjolnir, Warhammer 40Ks Ultramarines, Fallouts T-series, etc... What are the pros & cons of integrating the weapon into the armor or carrying an independent weapon, such as a rifle?

Brandon Reed It's largely a question of availability vs versatility. Die Hard's plot was written around, "We can't let McClain have a gun too much of the time." Things would have potentially gone more smoothly for him if he had duct taped a weapon to himself much earlier in the film.

Brandon Reed A small weapon, even a melee weapon, can be more useful in certain scenarios than a larger one. Consider that in our age of fully automatic military rifles being standard for combatants, we still issue combat knives to our military personnel.
