Topic: Death of a Unicorn
Another fantasy film from late last month, Death of a Unicorn, released to mediocre reviews. This is disappointing, as I actually had my eye on this one. Has anyone seen this Paul Rudd/Jenna Ortega film? How was it?

Road Master My guess is that it's suffering from bad advertising. I can't really tell what kind of movie it's supposed to be. Comedy, horror, something else?

Brandon Reed It's a *clears throat* comedy fantasy creature feature horror satire of big business, especially cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

Brandon Reed You may be right, though. I have noticed that a movie that can't be easily categorized will often not review well because critics don't know what to make of it.

lyzander cross I hadn't heard of it till this thread but after watching the trailer I'm intrigued, I could see it having a similar appeal to Leprechaun, Chucky or the Gremlins

David Rachau Only ads I ever saw for this were either on this app, or Reddit. All the ads were was an animated movie poster with one of the stars getting "gored" by what I suppose is a unicorn's horn. Not the actor, or character getting gored, mind you, but the movie poster.

Brandon Reed I haven't even seen that ad. Why are some advertising campaigns so lackluster?

Brandon Reed That definitely happens. Sometimes workplace politics even get involved. But this is a case of the ads that were paid for and produced failing to inform the intended audience of what they were trying to advertise.
