Topic: The Black Cauldron
I've long said that I wished Disney actually WOULD do a live-action version of Lloyd Alexander's The Chronicles of Prydain (the basis for their animated film The Black Cauldron). However, I've never really dug to see if that was in the works, as it's never been on any release schedules. Well, it turns out that Disney actually renewed the rights in 2016 with the goal of producing a live-action adaptation. This was 9 years ago, but it's still within the realm of possibility!

Momma Mia🐦⬛ I’ve actually never seen this Disney movie before, but after watching the clip, that “cute” little creature going down the stairs — the one who says “Look, Sire, it’s working!” — gave me Igor-from-Young Frankenstein vibes (which I adore). I’d honestly be down to watch this (or a live-action version) — the animation & storytelling look & sound captivating. Judging by everyone’s reviews, it seems like one of those films that traumatized kids when they were little but hits differently when revisited as an adult.

Road Master The is from the Disney era, commonly referred to as "the dark age". A period in Disney's history that they don't really acknowledge due to the extreme departure from their typical extravagantly colored, feel-good movies. The Rescuers, The Great Mouse Detective, etc... were also from this Disney age.

Brandon Reed Yeah, that's Creeper, and he very much seems informed by Igor. It's a beautifully animated film, but the pacing is rushed and the tone is inconsistent. It's worth watching at least once if you enjoyed the books as a kid or if you appreciate good animation with a dark slant.
