L PJust wow! This is by far my favorite book this year (I know we’re just a few days in, but …hey, I’m just saying) The author, Sister Souljah, crafts the harsh realities of a fall from grace that teaches the main character, Winter, about resilience. I love how the writer never lost sight of making the story engaging with each page! I never grew honored. I am officially a fan of Sister Souljah!

L PNicely written. I loved the way the writer was able to take me on a journey through time. It was a bit of a slow read for me. After a while, I stopped anticipating what would happen next and just read in hopes of getting through the book. The ending satisfied the curiosities I had left. I enjoyed the book overall.

L PJust finished reading this autobiography and I must say that Anne Moody gave an inspiring recollection of her years growing up in Mississippi. She describes her life in detail while displaying unwavering resilience. Great read!
