ISMy favorite audiobook listens will forever be romance! We love a feel-good romance, especially ones that involve book lovers!
ISI love a good mystery and the suspenseful feelings that come with it but this was a hard read. For some, this is anything but a fictional story for young girls in these exact or similar situations. So prevalent in the black community - The idea of little girls being ‘fast’ places the responsibility on the girls and not the men who are free to sexually exploit for their pleasure. The men who coax them into ‘womanhood’ and ultimately steal their youth, deeming the girls ‘grown’. As usual I went into this book blind and while I felt I was living in a terrible fever dream, it does make me wonder how many times I have been blamed for the thoughts and behaviors of men or even scrutinized others under the same terrible idea. A great read that brings awareness to a situation every black girl has been subjected to. I will be reading another one of Tiffany D. Jackson’s novels soon!
ISA short but very intense read that picks up quick and I love that it was centered around a black woman! There was a small amount of yearning and romance but plenty of excitement to make you want to keep reading and ponder the idea of what you might’ve done in her situation. Not the most believable but definitely entertaining! (⭐️⭐️⭐️.5)
ISThe people who feel undeserving of love are typically the ones who deserve it most.

This was such a complex love story that leaves you hoping to one day find a love that is restorative with someone who loves even the deepest parts of yourself that you hate most.

A controversial version of the ‘enemies to lovers’ trope but done beautifully and riddled with more than enough ‘excitement’ to make you wish you were there!

ISI was looking for a quick and entertaining read and I found just that! I love that McFadden’s books are easy to get in to and always end with a twist you did not see coming. I always love the feeling of being shocked and combing through the previous pages to reinterpret what I thought I knew.

I will forever love stories that I can quickly digest and offer easy entertainment as I unsuccessfully convince myself to only read one more chapter.
ISThis fifth novel was very different from the others and was the ultimate “me. vs. me” story. It explores the journey of self-love, mental health and finding community through fulfilling relationships with a character that I could not help but love in the end. Maas somehow manages to make this a propelling story about girlhood whilst finding love and it is so much more ‘spicy’ than what we’ve known!! I will definitely have to try some of Maas’ other series as well as other fantasy authors, but I am absolutely joining the fantasy bandwagon! This was amazing and I’m so happy to have had ACOTAR as my first fantasy series!
ISI’m on my way to finishing my first series!! I continue to love this story, its characters, and the various relationships developed along the way. There were so many things that I did not see coming and left me, again, pleasantly surprised. I remain hooked on this series and for the first time, ugly cried over fictional characters in a novel! I have no idea what to expect but it’s safe to say that I am not starting any other book until I have the complete story. On to Book 4!
ISA sequel better than the original?!?! I absolutely loved this book and finished in my own record time! I knew where things were headed but loved the execution. By the end, I could not see where things were headed and I’m still stuck on the ending! After reading the first I commented on the world-building, the slow burn love and detailed action scenes that were so movie-like. ACOMAF was no different and arguably better to my surprise. Might I say this is my new favorite series !!
ISThe book that has me considering fantasy as a preferred genre! Certainly not as smutty as some made it seem but such a well-told story that became more interesting the more you read. It reminded me of a certain fairy tale that I loved before morphing into a completely different story that I could not have guessed. Great world-building, a slow burn love story and detailed action scenes that made me feel like I was enjoying a movie. Very excited to read the next!
